LTSA Outlines Phase One of Mandatory E-Filing

The Land Titles of the Land Title and Survey Authority of BC (LTSA) has outlined the first phase for mandatory filing of land title documents and posting plans in British Columbia. Requirements to file land title forms electronically will be introduced in phases, with each phase specifying groups of similar application types.

The first document group required to e-file will be posting plans, and take effect July 1, 2011. Requirements to e-file specific Land Title forms will take effect January 16, 2012.

Dye & Durham wishes to remind BC Law Watch readers that electronic filing with the help of a registry agent will still be possible! Our E-Tray web-service sits between law firms and the EFS, offering many of the advantages that lawyers have come to rely upon, including:

  • Defect guarantees!
  • E&O Insurance;
  • Advanced Payment of PTT and all government disbursements;
  • Online Meets™ (we’re the only registry agent that offers this);
  • Online Survey Staging;
  • Due Diligence and document vetting; and
  • Full cost recovery integration with law firm accounting software.

We are very excited about the future of e-filing, and working hard to make E-Tray your gateway to all e-filing registries, including BC’s EFS. To find out more, visit Friday’s FYI Industry Alert or email etray@dyedurhambc.com.
